Frequently asked questions
If you do not find your answer here, write to us.
Whose name is the app published under?
Yours. The app appears on the App Store and Google Play with your organisation’s name, logo and colours. The DARON name does not appear in the app.
Which features will the app have?
Phone access, announcements, smart home control, calls with security, video door answering, cameras and guest access. We define the scope together based on your needs and the systems in your building.
Will our existing cards keep working?
Yes. The phone is added alongside the card; users without a phone, or who prefer not to use it, keep entering with their card.
Do we need to replace our readers?
Not if your readers are mobile-ready. If they are not, controllers, cabling and access control software stay in place and only the door reader is replaced. We look at this together during the site survey.
Does it work with our smart home system?
The smart home infrastructure in the flats connects to the app. We review your system and how to connect it during the site survey.
Do doors open if the internet goes down?
Yes. The credential lives on the phone and is passed directly to the reader. The internet is needed only to issue and revoke credentials.
What happens if I lose my phone?
Management switches off the credential from the panel immediately and sends a new invitation to your new phone.
How does it work in hotels?
The room key arrives on the guest’s phone and closes automatically when the stay ends. Access to shared areas such as the spa or car park can be added to the same key. Hotel announcements and contact with reception are in the same app.
How does the app help the environment?
Credentials are sent to the phone digitally, so no plastic or wooden cards are made or shipped. Notices reach the phone without being printed. Existing panels and cabling stay in place, keeping electronic waste to a minimum. With smart home control, lights and climate in an empty home can be switched off remotely.
How is pricing set?
We prepare a proposal based on the size of your organisation, the number of doors and the features you want.
